E-mail is cheap, quick and convenient – and it has revolutionised the way businesses communicate with their staff, their customers and their suppliers.  As more and more organisations adopt e-mail as their communications medium of choice, it’s vital that all employees have the skills and confidence to use it effectively if information is to flow smoothly within and outside the business.

This course will help complete beginners master the basics of sending and receiving e-mails using Outlook 2007.  It gives a simple, no-nonsense introduction to what Outlook 2007 is and the sort of business tasks that it can help with.

This course is appropriate for staff at all levels within any business sector, there are no formal entry requirements and employees do not need any prior experience.

Course features

This course provides an ideal introduction to sending and receiving e-mail messages using Outlook 2007.

Featuring clear instructions and reproductions of actual Outlook 2007 screens, the course takes you step-by-step through the process of creating, writing and sending an e-mail message.  As your confidence grows, you’ll have chance to practise using more advanced Outlook tools to help you build an address book, send an attachment and choose your delivery options.  The course also shows you how to use the Calendar, Contacts List and Task List in Outlook to manage information, schedule appointments and track tasks.

As you work through the course, you’ll complete a series of simple exercises and work with actual Outlook 2007 e-mail messages.  An Outlook Basics Test at the end of the course lets you practise your new skills and check that you have understood all the techniques covered.  The results of this test can be printed out as a record of how well you’ve done.

You can start the course straight away and access it at any time, providing you have the use of a computer with an internet connection. The course is available for six months from the date first accessed.
