Manual Handling

25 mins - valid for 6 months

Course Cost (excl. VAT):   £9.99

Introduction

Understanding the effect that lifting or supporting different objects can have on the body can help eliminate many of the risks associated with manual handling. Did you know that more than a third of the injuries reported to the Health and Safety Executive and local authorities each year, which lead to absences of over three days, result from manual handling?

This course helps you assess the risks involved in moving, lifting or carrying heavy or awkward objects, and explains the correct techniques to use.

Who is the course for?

This course is appropriate for anyone, but particularly those who are required to lift, carry or move objects in the workplace. It's suitable for office workers too - and not just people who may work in traditionally physical jobs or manual labour.

What will you get from this course?

When you've completed this course, you'll be able to:

•identify common issues with manual handling
•raise awareness of the issues among your colleagues, employees and managers
•take appropriate action to prevent accidents and breaches of legislation
