IOSH Working Safely
Who should attend?
This on-line course is aimed at staff from any sector with no supervisory or managerial responsibility who need to have an understanding of why they must ‘work safely'.
Why should you attend?
This completely online version of Working Safely introduces a new approach to health and safety training. It includes Tutor support, interactive exercises, and an online Final Assessment. A period of 6 months is allowed for completion.
Course Outline
This 6 to 8 hour course comprises five modules which cover the following:
- An introduction to the course and the principles of why working safely is important
- Understanding what constitutes a ‘hazard’ and recognising the different types
- Understanding the principles of risk and risk assessment
- Recognising 18 of the most common workplace hazards
- How they arise
- How to remove or reduce the risk
- Understanding safe systems of work
- A look at how, when and why to use PPE
- Recognising safety signs
- An overview of emergency procedures and first aid
- Understanding the basics of measuring health and safety and reporting incidents
- Understanding how industry affects the environment
- Discovering what industry and the individual can do to reduce pollution and waste
