Introduction
Every successful business needs its staff to be competent and confident with computers. Employees are likely to get on better at work if they understand IT and how computers can help them in their job.
The ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) is one of the most widely recognised computing qualifications. It’s made up of seven separate sections, which together lead to the ECDL qualification, a certificate recognised by both public and private sector organisations.
This first course is an ideal introduction to IT and gives employees the skills to sit for the first part of the ECDL qualification. It will build the confidence of your staff by taking them through the basics of computing and the role IT plays in business. They’ll gain the knowledge and understanding to go on and develop IT skills in areas specific to their job role.

You can start your course straight away and access it at any time, providing you have access to a computer with an internet connection. The course is available for six months from the date you first access it.

Does the course lead to a formal qualification?
This course, in conjunction with the six other courses featured in the ECDL Skills Suite, can be used to work towards the ECDL qualification. The required assessments for the qualification must be purchased separately from an approved ECDL test centre.
