Introduction
At best, a serious case of food poisoning could damage a business’s reputation. At worst, it could endanger customers’ lives.
Responsible organisations can help to ensure the safety of their business and their customers by gaining a thorough knowledge of basic food hygiene principles and practice.
If you work with food as part of your job, or you’re looking to work in the food industry, then you’ll need training in food safety. This course is endorsed by the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and supports the legal requirement for any staff handling food to be appropriately trained. It provides an overall introduction into food safety, covering topics such as hygiene, bacteria, food poisoning and contamination.
The Course
Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at anyone currently working in a role where they’d need to handle, prepare or cook food. It’s also great if you’re just about to start working in a role like this too, or if you are an employer looking for a cost effective training solution for your staff. There are no formal entry requirements and you don’t need any previous qualifications in Food Safety to start learning.
What will you get from this course?
On successful completion of the course you will receive a HABC approved certificate (in PDF format) to show employers you have been trained to the right level. The HABC endorsement ensures that the training stands up to the rigors of inspection by EHO’s/EHP’s, Food and Safety Officers or HSE enforcement inspectors and auditors.
When you have completed this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the importance of hygiene
- How to prevent food poisoning
